Information about the CCNA Exam

The CCNA exam is more in-depth and comprehensive than previous versions. One of Cisco’s most coveted IT Certifications is the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA). The Cisco CCNA exam is divided into two sections that assess network fundamentals and skill sets needed in a large company that uses Cisco equipment.

CCNA-certified individuals could install, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco routers and switches in small, medium, and large businesses.

The Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) credential is designed for IT professionals who want to advance their careers as network technicians or engineers and have valuable skills across a wide range of network equipment used worldwide.

The following are the topics covered by the exam:

Internet Protocol (IP) connectivity (25%)

This course will test your knowledge and skills in configuring, verifying, and troubleshooting basic routing using various protocols, such as static IP/VPN/DMZ routes. BGP; vRouter; dynamic routing protocols (RIPv1 and RIPv2); OSPF V3; EIGRP configuration, verification, and troubleshooting; and route redistribution using policy-based and tag-based routing will be covered.

Access to the network (20%):

VLANs, Inters witch connectivity, Layer 2 discovery protocols, Ether Channel, and the Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol must all be configured and troubleshot by students. Students’ knowledge of Cisco wireless architecture, AP modes, physical WLAN components, AP and WLC management access connections, and wireless LAN access will also be tested.

Fundamentals of the network (20%):

Network topology design; physical interface and cabling types; IP configuration and settings; IP parameters Fundamentals of wireless, virtualization concepts, cloud connectivity, and WAN configuration.

Fundamentals of security (15%):

The issues addressed are:

Security management.
Access control.
Data center security measures.
Physical access controls.
Password restrictions.
Access control lists.
Layer 2 security features.
Wireless transmission protocols.

IP services (ten percent):

Going over all of the features of NAT and NTP, as well as DHCP, DNS, SNMP, and Syslog; per-hop behavior; using SSH; and TFTP/FTP description.

Automation and programmability (10%): Compare various types of networks to controller-based networks, automation ideas, and JSON data analysis.

It is critical to remember that the exam may cover a wide range of topics. Keep in mind that the exam may cover other issues as well. The number of questions may vary, but it is likely between 90 and 110.

Exam Preparation for the CCNA

Passing the Cisco 200-301 exam necessitates extensive preparation. Given this, we’ve compiled a list of study tips to help you get a good grade.

Gain Practical Experience

Even though this may not be an option for everyone because the CCNA doesn’t require any prerequisites, it is still a good idea to get some real-world networking experience. This will give you an advantage over other students who have little to no knowledge of the subject at hand and help keep your nerves in check, as everyone gets nervous during testing situations!

As you prepare for the exam, you should apply theoretical knowledge to real-world troubleshooting and networking issues. Many people know that IP is untrustworthy, but the real challenge is determining alternative communication troubleshooting between nodes over IP.

What is your favorite method of self-study?

Professionals nowadays have insane work schedules and may be unable to attend class traditionally. This indicates that they are enthusiastic about self-study to prepare for the exam. This training method can either benefit or harm you. Self-study options include video lessons, hands-on lab training, and practice exams. Because you cannot implement them, you must select the best learning approach for you. The correct technique will help you learn and pass the topics covered in the exam.
